LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Livingston County is gearing up to launch a redesigned website that officials say will be easier to navigate and “user-focused,” according to a release.
“For the last six months, each county office and department has refreshed their content to ensure that the new site is user-focused and provides the information our residents, local businesses and community partners need,” officials wrote in the release.
While the domain name will change, the current domain, livgov.com, will continue to direct people to the county’s new website. Officials say they will announce the new domain name closer to launch, which is tentatively set for June 23.
“The new website design will offer easier access to the most used pages and services, as well as a cleaner, simpler layout for visitors to navigate,” the release states.
“The new site is easy to navigate, has a fresh look and feel, requires less clicks, features an intelligent and robust search engine, is mobile responsive, and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.”
Key changes to the website, according to the release, include:
- Simplified and organized navigational tabs that organize county departments under a “government” tab and county courts under a “courts” tab
- A recently added “newsroom” for county press releases and announcements, and a way to sign up to get the latest news delivered straight to your inbox
- An expanded calendar of public meetings for the Livingston County Board of Commissioners and committees
- A new “featured events” section showcasing major county events like open houses, recycling collections and more
- Links to the county’s official social media sites in the site’s footer and participating departments
“The website was designed with a more aesthetically pleasing color scheme and features photos that highlight the county’s beautiful scenery,” the release states.
